Family Album Covers
For Christmas gifts for my family, I wanted to create pieces for them that could stand as representations of their personalities. I identify music as a way of expression; one's favorite music says a lot about them as a person. I decided to create album covers for each of them.
This project allowed me to connect with each of them by creating something representative of what they love (while also expanding my music taste!).

My Family
I reached out to six family members and asked them for their favorite album of all time. I did basic research on each album, including the artist/band's history, visual references, and genre of music.
Sasha
Blonde (2018) Frank Ocean

Illustrating the Covers
I illustrated each of the six album covers in Procreate, using the Tamar brush to add color to each drawing. I listened to each of the albums while designing them, which helped me gain a better understanding of the music and connect more to my work.

Pop
Tattoo You (1981) The Rolling Stones

Dad
Metallica (1991) Metallica

Mom
What's the 411? (1992) Mary J. Blige

Jason
Thank U Next (2019) Ariana Grande

Lola
Mame (1972) Mame Cast

Printing
I then printed each of the elements for the six albums, folding the albums into sleeves with their respective records, labels, and individualized cards to each person.
